What can I expect from start to finish?
The short version: You will arrive, be checked in, change in our tent if you are not already wearing your swimsuit, sauna for 10-15 mins, cool down with the outdoor shower or breeze, repeat the hot cold cycle for a few rounds, finish, and feel awesome.
Why sauna?
From Ancient Rome to Scandinavia, people have been enjoying saunas for centuries for promoting relaxation and health. While research over the past 100 years has backed up the physical and mental health benefits, most of us are drawn to saunas simply because of how amazing they make us feel—both during and after.
What do I wear?
A swimsuit or athletic clothing you are comfortable sweating in. We encourage you to arrive wearing your swimsuit under your clothes or you are welcome to use our pop-up changing tent that is beside the sauna. Keep in mind you also have access to the outdoor rain shower.
What should I bring?
- 2 towels (one is required for sitting on in the sauna, one is for drying off after)
- Arrive in your swimsuit or athletic clothes
- Water bottle
- Please note that storage space is limited
Bonus: the above items are all you need, but for extra comfort, a robe and slide-on shoes for meandering around outside the sauna are encouraged.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
You have free cancellation until 24-hours before your session. No refund is provided when canceling with less than 24 hours notice.
Why 45 and 75 min sessions?
We get that weekdays can be hectic. Our weekday sauna sessions are 45 minutes to fit better into peoples' busy schedules. On weekends, when there's more time to relax, our sessions are 75 minutes to provide more time to enjoy the sauna.
How many people can fit in the sauna?
Our sauna seats 14 people. Bring the whole crew!
How do you clean the sauna?
Meticulously. A clean sauna is a happy sauna. We scrub the sauna with a natural, non-toxic cleaner, and our sauna’s western red cedar wood is naturally antimicrobial.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
You must be 18 years or older to enter the sauna.
Is the sauna accessible?
Our sauna has a one-foot step at the entrance. If you have limited mobility or any concerns about your ability to safely navigate uneven surfaces, steps, or seats without handrails, please reach out to us in advance. We are always happy to work with you to determine if the space is accessible for your needs and to explore if modifications can be made to comfortably accommodate you.
Are there any health restrictions?
We recommend you discuss any health concerns with your healthcare professional prior to visiting the sauna. Please ensure you have received approval to sauna from your healthcare professional if you suffer from a cardiac condition, high or low blood pressure, or a history of fainting.
Can I drink alcohol before or during the sauna session?
Après sauna is the move. Sauna first, celebratory drinks after! For safety, you must wait until after your sauna session to enjoy alcoholic drinks. No alcoholic beverages are allowed before or during sauna sessions.
Can I use my phone in the sauna?
Phones can't take the heat of the sauna. Please stow your phone and embrace the space to disconnect for a bit. No phones are allowed in the sauna.
Where should I park?
There are two main parking areas at Trailhead Beer Market. You can park either behind Trailhead or in the lot across Island Home Ave.
